Barley (Hordeum vulgare) is an important crop in food industry and serves as a source of beer production. Barley genome was sequenced by the International Barley Genome Sequencing Consortium, and was published on Nature in 2012 (ref). Barley has a large haploid genome of ~5.1 gigabases including 26,159 high-confidence genes.
