Cyanidioschyzon merolae is one of the most primitive red alga that is adapted to high sulfur acidic hot spring environments with pH below 2 and at 45ˇăC. C. merolae's genome assembly is approximately 16.73 Mb with 5,017 predicted genes (Ensembl Plants).
