The Brachypodium distachyon genome was published on Nature in 2010 (ref). Brachypodium belongs to the Pooideae, which includes important crops such as wheat, barley, rye, and oats. The Brachypodium genome is ~272 megabases with 25,532 protein coding genes on five chromosomes.
