Micromonas pusilla is a green algae, and is classified in the genus Micromonas. M. pusilla is the dominant photosynthetic picoeukaryote in some marine ecosystems. The genome of Micromonas strain CCMP1545 is approximately 22 Mb arranged in 21 scaffolds with 10,660 protein coding genes (ref).
