Fragaria vesca, commonly called wild strawberry, is a perennial herbaceous plant in the rose family that produces edible fruits. F. vesca genome was sequenced in 2011, which is roughly 240Mb arranged in 7 chromosomes with 32,831 predicted protein coding genes (ref).
