Chlamydomonas reinhardtii is a unicellular green alga. It inherited from the common ancestor of plants and animals, and thus serves as a model organism for the studies of photosynthesis, ciliary diseases and basic cellular mechanisms. C.reinhardtii genome assembly is approximately 111.1 Mb arranged on 17 chromosomes (ref).
